Paper Research

Cut Rice Paper Sculptures of Twisting Rollercoasters by Bovey Lee In this assignment, I researched other artists using papercrafts as a medium. I used the Bovey Lee article to review this topic. Bovey Lee is an artist travelling across the United States of America, from Pittsburgh to Los Angeles. During his travels, she would experience an overwhelming variety of experiences from these two cities.  To show his experiences between the two cities, Bovey began working on a new art project by cutting through rice paper. Cutting by hand, she featured landscapes from her past and contemporary self as if they were a spiralling cycle of rollercoasters. According to the artist, she spoke that "the works also feature imagery associated with romantic relationships, and wedding bouquets, engagement rings, cakes, and eternity symbols populate the pieces."  My interpretation of this piece of art is that it represents the journey of one's life to seek balance through the everchanging ...

PAPERCRAFT OBJECTS: DIGITAL SIMPLES

Image
I made some papercrafts based on wireless headphones that I have at home. My favourite hobby is playing games; this set of headphones helped me feel the stereo audio from those games. I also added some stuff to make the papercraft unique, including a JackFraggs logo and ears for the model.  1. This was a test to practice my skills in Rhino 7 and the creation of papercraft digital simples. 2. This is based on the headphone mic. 3. The USB A stick to connect the headphones to any device. 4. Ears for the headphones. This is not part of the headphones in reality.  5. The part where the headphones would sit on your head. 6. The mic attaches to the side of the headphones. 7. Cushion pats of the headphones 8. The speakers of the headphones.

Remix culture is a part of the creative community that allow and encourages them to create unique creative works by including existing materials. Artists can create videos combining two popular medias, mashing up or re-editing songs, or combing media to create something very unique. This is a hot space to produce remix works as the establishment of creative commons that makes things strict for people to used copyrighted materials. Grooving'On

Image
Grooving'On      Daniel Ounalom While watching the film  Gary Hustwit's Objectified, I spotted an object that looks simple and cool at the same time. I listened to funk music then, which gave me the idea to create a portable disc player based on the disc player attached to the wall. I also felt nostalgic because I used to have an old portable music player I had lost in time. Probably lost when I moved houses back when I was really young. The disc player on the wall looks like it was created by Naoto Fukasawa.  Object of Inspiration Back Shot Side Front Shot Bottom Front Shot
